Register now for CACTC Youth Conference at Cortland Ramada

One of Cortland Area Communities That Care’s (CACTC) strategies to promote positive youth development is to encourage neighborhood attachment. It is vital that young people feel connected to their community. We are fortunate to live in a county where there are many ways kids can learn self-confidence. As a result we have some great kids who are helping to make Cortland County a better place.

Here is another opportunity for our youth to become more involved by participating in the 3rd Annual CACTC Youth Conference at the Ramada Inn in Cortland on Saturday, March 14th from 2:30 – 9:00pm.

During the afternoon there will be a presentation from award-winning poet, actor, and inspirational speaker Carlos Andres Gomez, interesting workshops, and an opportunity to learn more about volunteering in your community. In the evening there will be a tasty dinner to eat while listening to Krush Entertainment spin some great tunes watching Cindy Halpin’s Hip Hop Dancers. And if you aren't interested in the dance or karaoke there will be plenty of other activities to choose from: swimming, yoga, crafts, games, prizes and more! This fun-filled day can be had for a very minimal registration fee, but scholarships are available if necessary. Hurry and sign up soon. Registration is limited to the first 100 and they will go quickly!

For more information on the CACTC 3rd Annual Youth Conference, call Kristen Case at 756-8970 ext.3. Registration forms will be available in all Cortland County Schools or you can get one on-line at our Cortland Area Communities That Care website (www.cortlandareactc.org).

Kristen Case is the director of Community Education at 7 Valleys Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse . She also chairs the Youth Development workgroup of Cortland Area CACTC.
